Tigerpaw 11 Upgrade Process

Root Folder

>>>  1)  Once you get the Tigerpaw R2 client software downloaded, right click on the folder to Extract All, then go into the Extracted Download Folder and into the Tigerpaw V11 Client folder and double-click on the setup.exe file to install it on the server.  This will  have to be installed on ALL workstations that will be running Tigerpaw as well.

>>>  2)  If on a 64-bit workstation you look in Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel and you DO NOT SEE "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward compatibility" isntalled, log into www.tigerpawsoftware.com then click on this link:  http://download.tigerpawsoftware.com/download/v10/SQLServer2005_BC_x64.msi to Save the SQLServer2005_BC_x64.msi file to your Desktop.  Now, double-click on this saved file to install it.  Use the defaults for the install wizard.

>>>  3)  On all of the workstations, Enable Named Pipes and TCP/IP Port 1433:

If 32-bit computer: 

1.  Start
2.  Run
3.  cliconfg.exe
4.  Enter
5.  Double-click on Names Pipes to Enable and move to the right-side of the windows
6.  Double-click on TCP/IP to Enable and move to the right-side of the windows
7.  Highlight TCP/IP and select Properties underneath it and make sure it is set to Port 1433

If 64-bit computer:

1.  Right-click on Start
2.  Select Explore
3.  Go to C:\Windows\SYSWOW64\cliconfg.exe and double-click
4.  Double-click on Names Pipes to Enable and move to the right-side of the windows
5.  Double-click on TCP/IP to Enable and move to the right-side of the windows
6.  Highlight TCP/IP and select Properties underneath it and make sure it is set to Port 1433

>>>  4)  If running a Firewall on the SQL Server make the following Port and Application Exceptions:

Incoming TCP Port 1433
Incoming UDP Port 1434
Outgoing TCP Port 1433
Outgoing UDP Port 1434
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn\ sqlservr.exe

32 -bit: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\sqlbrowser.exe

64-bit:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\sqlbrowser.exe

>>>  5)  On the SQL Server, go into services.msc and Stop the Tigerpaw Timer Service.  Go into the Control Panel and Uninstall Tigerpaw Timers.  Go into the Extracted Download Folder from Step 1) and into the Tigerpaw Timer Service folder and double-click on the setup.exe file to install the Tigerpaw Timers Service on this server.  The settings from  the previous install should carry over but if they do not configure the Tigerpaw Timers Service per the attached document.
